The Discovery Community Training Centre (DCTC) provides vocational
training and education opportunities for young people aged **Apply on

gives learners the opportunity to acquire new skills and achieve
certification for progression into employment, further training or
education. We are committed to supporting our young learners to
develop the skills to progress towards their goals in life, in an

Our current programmes include Catering, and Woodwork at QQI Levels 3
& 4 and the VTCT Diploma in Hair and Beauty. We are based in the
Village Centre complex in Darndale, Dublin *
and our facilities include a fully equipped professional kitchen, a
Hair and Beauty Salon and workshop.

DELIVERING VTCT (1 & 2) PROGRAMMES AND MODULES (LEVEL 4)
* The art of shampooing and conditioning
* The art of dressing Hair
* The art of colouring Hair
* The running of a open salon to give learners a chance to learn and
work on real clients.
EXPERIENCE
Diploma in Training & Education / Vocational or Trade level
qualification (QQI Level 7) and significant experience of working with
young people
The ability to integrate I.T. based learning, literacy development and
other pedagogical skills and approaches
Excellent administration and communication skills
A learner-centred approach to work.
The ability to provide guidance to new and emerging learners
The ability to work effectively with CTC staff, learners, external
partners, employers and others as appropriate to support learner
progression
An awareness of QQI and the National Framework of Qualifications for
CTCs
